BCC moves in to ease the water crisis in the city
12 years ago | 5603 Views
Bulawayo City Council has moved in to ease the water crisis affecting the city as some dams have now been decommissioned due to low levels of water.
Councillor Rafa Moyo said the city had this week introduced water bowsers in every ward and suburb while all boreholes sunk in 2009 have been rehabilitated. Each ward has three boreholes.
Bulawayo received less than average rainfall this year and has already decommissioned two supply dams Upper Ncema and Umzingwane leaving only three dams; Insiza, Lower Ncema and Inyankuni. The remaining dams hold about 42 percent water of their combined capacity.

Let's hope the decommissioned dams are being cleaned in preparation of the upcoming rain season. BCC has a problem they do not clean/remove the soil that would have filled up the dam. they also know in advance that their will be water shortages but they only start rationing water when water is too few resulting in their irrational three day water cut
